Spring is just around the corner

The weekend was full of spring activities:

Meeting with friends, taking a walk in the evening, cooking dinner together and watching a dvd sounds like a perfect saturday evening to me :)

Also, the cat starts to spend more time outside. Although it's still cold outside, the sun is warm :)

Spring means...

Traces on stone

Aaand, best of all, the ice cream parlors opened! YAY.

Can't wait to savor the first fresh ice cream of the year :)

Hope you had a fabulous weekend!

Thrifty Nifty: Polaroid

Yesterday, I found this beauty:

My Polaroid :)

She's a red/black Polaroid Supercolor!

It was love at first sight. Luckily, the woman in the thrift store had no idea what the black plastic thingy was that I held in my hand. So i got it for two euros. TWO!!

It seems to work fine, although I don't have any film yet. Guess I'll have to buy one pack of those super-duper expensive Impossible Films. But this moment is soo worth it:

I love watching the picture 'come to life'. It's so magical! One day I wanna learn how to develop my own films, too! :)

to Japan, with Love

esc

Jen from Hey! Jen Renee knitted this beautiful Noro scarf and put it for auction on ebay. All proceeds will be donated to the American Red Cross Earthquake and Tsunami disaster relief efforts.

The scarf is absolutely stunning! From watching the news we all know how desperately the Japanese need help. Also, shopping for a good cause keeps aways the bad conscience and you get to wear this beauty.

Head on over to her blog for more information or go directly to the ebay auction to bid :)

Thought Bubble Chalkboard Love

For my mom's 50th birthday, I wanted to take pictures of all the guests and make a scrapbook for her. I wanted to do something fun and individual, not just photo booth like portraits.

When I saw Rachel Denbow's Thought Bubble Chalkboard that you can buy at Red Velvet I fell in love!! As shipping costs to Germany are pretty high and I didn't have time to wait for it to arrive, I decided to make my own!

I can't wait to make some new designs in the future, like a heart, sunglass, christmas tree or scalloped shape?

Here are some pictures of my family at my mom's birthday party. Everybody loooved the chalkboard and people came up with lots of creative and funny ideas what to write on it :)

my parents

My parents are 100 years old? Now I feel old, too :D

my brother

My brother, Till. Normally he doesn't like having his photo taken too much so I was surprised that he was very easy going and dynamic in front of the camera. Maybe I should do a photo shoot with him in summer.

my sister

Although in the beginning, my sister refused to write something on the chalkboard because she found it ridiculous, she soon realized how much fun it is and couldn't stop coming up with new ideas :)
