Craft Day: Sewing Cosmetic Purses

Two of my friends, Hyunji and Mareike, have recently taken sewing classes. We thought it would be fun to sew cosmetic purses together. Luckily, I have a very talented mother who kindly offered to show us how to sew them. Mareike's mom joined us as well. Here are some pictures...

Although the weather was wonderful (after weeks of rainy, grey days)...

...Mareike's dog Quintus decided that it was more fun watching us sew than going outside to enjoy the sunshine.

We've had a wonderful lunch together. I made a Caesar Salad (the first time... I've never seen it in Germany before but it's one of my favorite dishes in the US. So I thought why not give it a try and bring some Mexican culture across the ocean?) and Mareike made these tasty cinnamon rolls.

And here's a picture of Hyunji, Mareike and me with our finished bags.

These purses are super-easy to make. You can find a German tutorial my mom made here and a similar tutorial written by Ayumills from Pink Penguin here.

Thanks again, mom, for being a patient teacher :)
